Venture Capital Deal Process

Adam Ghobarah, Partner, GV (Google Ventures)

Bio

Adam Ghobarah is a general partner at GV, where he brings expertise in machine learning (ML) and data technologies. He seeks out entrepreneurs in several areas, including high value applications of ML and data, and in the new ecosystem enabled by the ride-sharing and delivery networks worldwide. The scale of these new networks has created new opportunities and made some previously uneconomical opportunities possible. Adam was an advisor to GV since its inception in 2009 and joined full-time in 2012. Prior to joining GV, he was a director at Google. He built and led a world-class machine learning team that developed models for predicting advertiser behavior and systems for automating ML model training. Prior to joining Google in 2006, Adam worked at Mathsoft, which created mathematical software for mechanical and civil engineers. Adam received his doctorate in statistics from the University of Texas at Austin. He was a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard University, where he focused on the application of statistics to public health and authored several highly cited papers.
