Course Announcements

June 6, 2010:
If you wish, you may bring a calculator to the exam. There is one question that involves calculation... you'll probably be fine without a calculator, but it's OK to use one. We'll try to bring a couple of calculators for anyone who forgets.
May 27, 2010:
The final exam will have the same rule about notes as the midterm: you can bring one double-sided page containing any notes you wish. No other books, notes, or laptops are permitted.
May 27, 2010:
There will be a review session for the final exam on Sunday, June 6, from 2:30-4:00 in Building 370, Room 370.
May 24, 2010:
If you cannot attend the final exam at its scheduled time, please send email no later than Friday, May 29, to "ouster@cs" and "cs140ta@cs" with (a) the reason why you need an alternate exam time and (b) all of your available times on Monday, June 7 (including the evening). The alternate exam will be sometime on June 7.

The last discussion section (introduction to Project 4) will be this Friday, May 21, from 3:15-4:05 in Y2E2 Room 111.

May 5, 2010:
The midterm exam is Thursday, May 6, from 8:00-9:30 P.M. in Building 420 Room 40. The exam is closed-book, except you may bring one 8.5"x11" sheet (double-sided) of notes to consult during the exam.

The discussion section for the third project will be this Friday, May 7, from 3:15-4:05 in Y2E2 Room 111.
May 1, 2010:
The issue with running Pintos on the corn clusters has been identified. If you wish to develop on corn, please make the following change to your Make.config file.
Find the line that looks like:
ifeq ($(strip $(shell $(LD) --build-id=none -e 0 /dev/null -o /dev/null 2>&1; echo $$?)),0)
and replace it with:
ifeq ($(strip $(shell $(LD) --help | grep -q build-id; echo $$?)),0)

If you have a conflict with the time for the midterm exam (8-9:30 P.M. on May 6), please send email to ouster@cs no later than 5:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 29, with all of the times you are available between 10 A.M. and 6 P.M. on May 6: there will be an alternate midterm sometime on Thursday for people with conflicts.

April 5, 2010:
The first discussion section will be this Friday, April 9, from 3:15-4:05 in Y2E2 Room 111. The section will introduce Pintos and the first programming project.
