It should be noted here that the only Wilson piece I have actually seen is The Black Rider. As such, I am writing more about what I imagine his early works to be like, and about the Miguel Morey and Carmen Pardo article, "The Deaf Gaze" (2003). This might be problematic from Sontag's point of view, because it is already creating another kind of encrustation: not of interpretation (secondary, tertiary meanings) but a synthesis of non-interpretive writings about a work producing tertiary (probably quaternary) criticisms which start to be as much about the writing as about the work itself.
