David Brand, Andeavor

Bio

David Brand is the Manager of Business Intelligence for the Andeavor Corporation (formerly Western Refining and Tesoro) and he has held that position for two years. Prior to that he served as a Senior Solution Architect for the Teradata Corporation for 18 years supporting major accounts such as ConocoPhillips, Chevron, Travelocity, Federal Express and United Airlines. In his role at Andeavor, his organization is responsible for all BI related activities including ETL (Informatica), Data Management (Teradata, SQL Server and Oracle), Analytics and Visualization (Tableau, R, Essbase, PowerBI) and Reporting (SSRS, Business Objects, Qlikview, Excel). David has BS degrees in Biology and Chemistry from Southern Methodist University, an MSc in Industrial Chemistry from the University of North Texas and an MBA from Houston Baptist University. .

Abstract

Many technical presentations talk about how to enable IoT. This presentation will focus on applications that poduce value in actual dollars. Architectural approaches and ROI across several extremely lucrative projects will be discussed that utilize sensor data in decision support analytics and produce value.
