Morphology:
F.
gigantica is much larger
than F. hepatica about
2.5-7.5cm long and 1.2 cm
wide.
Definitive host: cattle,
camels (Africa), water
buffalo (Africa and the
Orient)
Epidemiology:
Most of
the infections are localized
in tropical areas of Africa
and the Orient.
Life
cycle:
Similar
to F. hepatica
Clinical Presentation and
Pathogenesis:
Severe
liver damage is caused due
to large size of the
parasite.
