The generous support of individual and corporate donors is critical to our success. Collaboration and partnerships among faculty, alumni, and industry have been central to our long history of innovation and learning.
Whether you wish to make an annual gift, are considering an endowed gift, or wish to discuss your estate plans, we will strive to make your experience as rewarding as possible. Gifts of any size are welcome because they add up to make a tangible difference to people throughout the Department.
Student support is our department's highest priority. Our ability to offer attractive fellowship packages is key to our success in drawing top candidates to the school and is essential to the future of Stanford Engineering.
Prospective graduate students are accepted solely on merit. The most important criteria for admission are superior academic achievement and a potential to contribute to the academic and professional communities. The competition, particularly at the PhD level, is intense, and only the top candidates are admitted. Once admitted, the very best students are offered financial support.
Some students receive funding from other sources, but a certain percentage of highly qualified students must make their decisions to attend Stanford based at least in part on financial considerations. Without graduate fellowships, many of these students simply could not afford to attend Stanford.
Our continued success depends on our ability to match financial packages offered by peer institutions and to make financial considerations a non-issue in any promising student's decision to attend Stanford.
