Stanford's PeopleSoft System Upgraded

The PeopleSoft system, comprised of the Axess student and faculty site, the Human Resources Management System (HRMS), and Student Administration (SA) was upgraded in early August. This was the first upgrade since the system was implemented in 2002. A PeopleSoft Executive Sponsor Group, made up of representatives from the Controller's Office, Financial Aid, Human Resources, and the Registrar's Office, oversaw plans for the upgrade.

The Axess site, previously used solely by students, faculty and academic advisors to view course schedules and grades, change address and phone numbers, see class lists, view transcription information of advisees and more, was expanded to allow administrative users to get to the PeopleSoft system. There are approximately 900 school and department administrative staff who use PeopleSoft to process business transactions related to employees and students. In the future, the Axess site will provide self-service functionality (e.g., pay stubs, W4 tax form) for employees and temporary, casual, and student workers.
