Green Library Clusters - Social Sciences Resource Center (SSRC)

Located on the first floor of the Bing Wing, the SSRC [map] cluster is filled with 12 (twelve), new, Dell GX280's. All of the machines have the same base set of applications. Machines #1-#6 have additional statistical packages such as AtlasTi, Amos, StatTransfer, and more. Patrons who need to use these specialized statistical applications found on machines #1-6 have first priority. All machines have CD-RW/DVD drives and USB ports to plug in flash (thumb) drives.

Scan Stations: The SSRC Reading room has two scan stations for patrons to use. The stations are located on each computing table in the reading room. Click here for a map of scanners in Green.

The scan station can only be accessed by those with a valid SUNet ID.

Software available for patrons to use is as follows:

  • Epson Scan
  • Image Capture (MacOS Only)
  • (Additional software loaded on the scan stations can be found here-- PC|Mac)

Scanning documentation can be found next to the scan station.

SSRC Government Documents Kiosk: Located in the receptionist area of the SSRC (right outside the Velma Denning Room), you will find four (4) public kiosks:

  1. U.S. Serial Set Volumes kiosk
    This kiosk contains, The Immigration Commission Reports from the Dillingham Commission and Women and Child Wage Earners in the U.S. from the Bureau of Labor.
  2. Numeric Data on CD-ROM kiosk
    This machine is loaded with CDROMs containing over 70 datasets.
  3. U.S. Depository kiosk
    There are two machines that can be used to access,
    • The U.S. Federal Depository, and
    • The California Depository

    These machines area available to the public.
