Content:Microcard reproductions of the complete text of every non-serial publication in the geographical equivalent of the United States from 1639-1800. Includes all of the nearly 50,000 items in the National Index of American Imprints.

Access:Individual titles are not in Socrates. Staff in Media-Microtexts will retrieve material from the collection if you specify "Microprint 2" and provide an item's entry number from the National Index of American Imprints.

Incorporates Charles Evans' pioneering American Bibliography and also lists over 10,000 additional items. Arranged alphabetically by author. In the case of anonymous works, the item is listed under both title and author, if author has been identified.
American Bibliography: A Chronological Dictionary of All Books, Pamphlets and Periodical Publications Printed in the United States of America from the Genesis of Printing in 1639 Down to and Including the Year 1820. With Bibliographical and Biographical Notes

Each volume covers several years and has an author index, a very useful subject index, and an index of printers and publishers. Contrary to the title, Evans' coverage extends only to 1800.
