Abstract: Water and humidity relations are perhaps the most important physical factors affecting populations of Porcellio scaber. Increasing humidity is positively related to increased size and increased population density. Increased water content is negatively related to increased size. As the humidity in a population varies more, the mean size of Porcellio decreases.
