Abstract: The tubiculous polychaete, Myxicola infundibulum has been shown to utilize chemoreception in connection with its withdrawl response. The worms were found to be especially sensitive to divalent metal cations such as zinc and copper as they reacted to concentrations as low as 10 ^-7M of these metal ions.
