Professor Robert Sampson is the Henry Ford II Professor of Social Sciences at Harvard University and Director of Social Sciences at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Studies. He will be discussing his 2012 book Great American City: Chicago and the Enduring Neighborhood Effect, based on over a decade of research. Professor Sampson's interests include crime, disorder, neighborhood effects, inequality, and the social structure of the city.

Professor James Ferguson, Chair of the Anthropology Department at Stanford, will present comments.
