Dan Hirslund is an Assistant Professor in the Anthropology Department at the University of Copenhagen. Current research focuses on 21st century Maoism in South Asia and its transformations from a rural to an urban movement in Nepal. Dan is interested in convergences between capitalist restructuring of labor forms, and the formation of an urban precariat through its participation in regional democratization processes. Dan is currently developing a project that seeks to look into the reconfiguration of politics and labor among the urban poor in Kathmandu.
