I’m a postdoctoral fellow working with Tanya Luhrmann on projects related to psychosis, unusual perceptual experiences (such as ‘voices’) that span clinical and non-clinical populations, and the sociocultural determinants of such experiences.
My formal academic background is in continental and comparative philosophy (BA, MA) and community psychology (PhD). In 2005-06 I completed a doctoral research fellowship in Japan at the Nanzan Institute for Religion and Culture. Additional research interests include early intervention in psychosis, cultural and clinical phenomenology, the politics of community mental health organizing, and public and patient engagement (PPE). I’m also an associate editor at Somatosphere.
