2020 Urbanek and Chodorow Postdoctoral Fellowships

The Department of Applied Physics invites applications for the 2020 Karel Urbanek and the Marvin Chodorow Postdoctoral Fellowships.

 

This annual program is aimed at recruiting young scientists of exceptional ability with the potential to do outstanding research in our department. The appointment includes 2 years of support with a competitive salary, benefits and $5,000 to cover research expenses, and is open to both theorists and experimentalists. Research fields of interest to the department include but are not limited to: Atomic & molecular physics; biophysics; condensed matter and materials physics; imaging & imaging instrumentation; photonics & applied optics; quantum systems & engineering; theoretical & statistical physics.

Candidates should upload their curriculum vitae, publication list, and two-page essay detailing proposed research with faculty collaborator(s). Applicants are encouraged to discuss their proposed research plan with potential faculty collaborator(s) in preparing their application. They should arrange to have two letters of reference submitted online.

 

Please note that candidates are required to identify one or more host faculty within Applied Physics (only) with whom they have discussed their proposed research and who would be willing to write a third letter of reference and accept them into their group.  Applications without faculty nominees will not be considered.
