Lasers and Accelerators

Our group is exploring the possibility of boosting the useable acceleration gradients for both normal conducting and superconducting linear accelerators (linacs). Our effort includes the development of linacs and associated technologies such as novel solid state RF sources. We are also engaged in the applied research related to linac technologies such RF undulators for free electron lasers and modern synchrotron light sources. The research topics span a wide range from simulation codes, to the experimental testing of high RF field properties of new engineered superconducting materials.
