TAG @ STANFORD, 1st-3rd May 2009
The registration desk will be open in the Archaeology Center from 3pm-5.30pm on Friday and all day on Saturday and Sunday. Please make sure you wear your badges to all conference venues.
The plenary session will be held in the Cubberley Education Building auditorium on Friday. The plenary session starts at 5.30pm and will be followed by a wine reception in the portico outside.
All paper sessions will be held in the Lane History Corner. Note that the rooms we are using span the first, second, and third floors and the basement. Session organizers and speakers: please arrive early to load your presentations onto the computers. TAG volunteers will be available in each room.
Coffee breaks and packed lunches
Breakfast (8-9am), coffee (10.30-11am) and packed lunches (1-2pm) will be available in the Archaeology Center on Saturday and Sunday. If you paid for packed lunches when you registered online, these will be available on production of the tickets you will be given at registration.
The TAG party will be held in the Francis C. Arrillaga Alumni Center on Saturday, from 7pm-midnight.
Entry to the party and drinks are included in the registration fee. Sign up for a BBQ dinner for only $15!
The TAG exhibition, Object Lessons: Highlights from the Stanford Archaeology Center Collections is located in the foyer of the Archaeology Center and is open throughout the conference.
Book stalls are located in the Archaeology Center Seminar Room. The book room will be open from 3pm-5.30pm on Friday, and all day on Saturday and Sunday.
Personal Histories Screening
The first three Personal Histories films, featuring some of your favorite archaeologists, will be screened in the Archaeology Center Seminar Room on Saturday morning.
TAG Executive Committee Meeting
The TAG Executive Committee Meeting will be held in Room 115 in the Archaeology Center at 1pm on Saturday.
Computers are available in the Archaeology Center for checking your presentations. Contact a TAG volunteer for temporary login and password details. See map for printing service locations on campus.
Luggage may be left in the Archaeology Center – contact a TAG volunteer for details.
Transport to and from campus
We have arranged a free Marguerite shuttle bus to run continuously between Palo Alto train station and the campus oval on Saturday and Sunday mornings from 7:30-10:30am, and on Sunday afternoon from 3pm-7pm. There will also be a list of taxi numbers available at the registration desk, and at the Friday plenary and the Saturday party venues.
Parking is available on campus free of charge after 4pm Monday-Friday, and all day at weekends. Please check the signs carefully and note that parking is strictly monitored.
