Joint B.A. in Classics and English, with High Distinction, University of Toronto
Summer Session, School of Criticism and Theory at Cornell (2011)
Ava's interests in Classics center on the relationship between ancient philosophy and literature and currently span a wide range of authors from Plato to Augustine. Since arriving at Stanford, she has worked on topics in literary theory, emotions, aesthetics, and self-fashioning. Her current project focuses on modes of thinking about the body and beauty in classical Athenian discourse.
She is always looking for inspiration in literature and theory outside of Classics, as well as in the visual and dramatic arts.
