Elizabeth Ten-Hove


Ph.D. candidate, Language and Literature

 Elizabeth is a Ph.D. candidate on the language and literature track. She received her B.A. in Classics and English Literature from McGill University in 2013, combining the two disciplines in an honors thesis entitled "Adsum: Seneca and the Supernatural on the Elizabethan Stage." Her research interests include Greek lyric and drama, intertextuality in Augustan poetry, and the Roman reception of Greek literature. In addition, she has been active in modern performances of ancient texts as an actor, translator, and director; recent projects include Euripides' Bacchae (Centaur Theatre, Oct. 2012), Homer's Iliad 1 (Freestanding Room, Jan. 2013), and Sophocles' Philoktetes (Montréal Arts Interculturels, Feb. 2013).
