Overview

The Undergraduate Awards is a prestigious awards programme that identifies and recognizes the leading international creative thinkers and problem solvers through their undergraduate coursework or projects. This programme has been under the patronage of President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins, since February 2012.

The Award

The Undergraduate Awardees are brought to Dublin, Ireland for a 3-day summit to meet and network with international high potential scholars. Awardees are also offer the opportunity to have their work published in the international acacemic journal, Undergraduate Journal. Undergraduate Awardees can become members of the UA Alumni network to connect with world-class students from around the globe.

Eligibility

Final and Penultimate Year undergraduate students from Ireland, Europe, North America, South America, Asia, Africa and Australia enrolled in a degree program can apply. Recent alumni who were enrolled and graduated in 2012-2013 may also apply. All fields are accepted.

The Application

Participants submit online their coursework or project essays which they have already submitted for grading. Applicants can submit up to 3 papers or projects across any of the categories for that year.

"Students are chosen for their innovative approach to their subject area - creating world class research to tackle some of the world's challenges." They are judged on focus, strength of argument, use of evidence, communication and presentation, research, and originality.
