1. General Information
The conference will be held at Snowbird, a beautiful year-round ski/summer resort located in the Wasatch Mountain Range, 40 minutes from Salt Lake City Airport. The resort includes luxurious health spa, swimming, sauna, and fitness center. Hiking and mountain bike trails and many other amenities are also available. Detailed information about the conference site can be found at www.snowbird.com. The conference room rates are $99.00 per night at the Cliff Lodge and $89 per night at the Lodge at Snowbird for either a single or a double room. Condominium lodges with a full kitchen are also available.
Following the usual custom, the Conference will consist of single sessions of invited talks and posters covering the latest developments in Laser Spectroscopy and related topics. Poster size: 120cm x 120cm. Scheduling will allow significant time for informal discussions.

2. Abstract submission information.
The program will consist of posters and invited talks (single session). All submissions will be reviewed by the program committee, and conference attendance will be limited to 320 participants. Posters of exceptional quality may be converted into invited talks. Talks and posters should be submitted as abstracts with a maximum of two pages, including figures, tables and references.
Abstracts should be sent as e-mail attachments to email@example.com (This

distributed to conference participants at the beginning of the

A block of rooms has been set aside to accommodate conference participants. Reservations for lodging and local transportation should be made through Snowbird’s Central Reservations (Telephone 1-800-453-3000 toll-free within the US, or +1-801-933-2222 from outside the US; FAX: 1-801-947-8227; email: firstname.lastname@example.org). When making the reservations, please identify yourself as an ICOLS participant in order to get the reduced room rate.

The Salt Lake City International Airport is a hub for Delta Airlines (which is now the "official airline of ICOLS-XV" -- see below for discount information). It is also serviced by America West, American, Continental, Southwest, Trans World, United and Frontier. Central Reservations can also provide airline reservations.
4a. Delta Airlines - Reduced Airfares tor ICOLS XV
We have just entered into an agreement with Delta airlines to provide special fares for flights to Salt Lake City for ICOLS XV. The discounts available are up to 10% within North America, and up to 6% for those coming from outside North America. Flights from Japan may be discounted up to 30%.
An additional 5% discount is offered on flights within North America for tickets booked 60 days in advance or more (i.e. before about April 11th)
Please be advised that although the conference itself does not include a Saturday night, staying over a Saturday night may dramatically reduce airfares.
For travel in North America, interested participants should call the Delta Meeting Network at 800-241-6760 and reference the identifier code DMN176482A.
For international travel, interested participants can contact their local Delta Airlines representative or Travel Agent, and reference the code DMN176483A.
For those using a travel agent, they should be advised that the meeting identifier code MUST appear in the "tour code" box on all tickets issued in conjunction with ICOLS. Contact the Delta Meeting Network for more details.
4b. Airport Transportation
Transportation between SLC airport and Snowbird is arranged through Snowbird Central Reservations, with a company called Canyon Transport. The shuttles are pre-scheduled (you make a reservation, give them your flight arrival and departure times, etc.) and the regular summer hours are 8AM-10PM from SLC airport, and 6AM-7PM from Snowbird. During these hours the price is $20 per person. Outside of these hours, they have a 3 person minimum price ($60 for up to 3 people).

6. Social program

We will have a mixture of scheduled events for ICOLS participants and non-participants. The Monday and Tuesday events are intended only for non-participants, since they overlap with talks during conference sessions. Payment for tours and excursions will be billed to your room at hotel check-in. Register for any of these events through the ICOLS Registration form. Please sign up at least 2 weeks in advance if possible (i.e., by May 25, 2001), since the number of on-site excursion registrations may be limited.
