- Osteosarcoma
The MRI reveals a destructive lesion of the left posterior femur (green arrow). 18F- PET reveals intense uptake of 18F- in the left knee (red arrows), consistent with reactive bone. FDG-PET reveals intense uptake of FDG in both the bone and soft tissue components of the tumor. The PET studies demonstrate that metastases are not likely but that the tumor is restricted to the bone and surrounding soft tissue.Follow-Up
The patient underwent surgery with the installation of a prosthetic device, based on the extent of the disease as revealed by both MRI and FDG-PET.
