They will not, however, have access to University facilities such as gyms, libraries, etc. until they are enrolled.  The latest summer move-in date through the Continuous Assignments process is  July 25, 2014.

  • Students with academic year student housing contracts (ending in June) who graduate in June can apply for student housing to stay for an 8 week summer contract (ending August 17, 2014) or for the Bar Review contract if graduating from Law School (ending August 4, 2014).

  • Students enrolled for the summer have priority for housing.

They can choose between 8 week (ending August 17, 2014), 10 week (ending September 2, 2014), or 10 week plus summer-autumn interim contracts (if assigned to housing for autumn, which will end on the day that the autumn contract begins).

  • Students who are graduating in June can apply for student housing to stay for an 8 week summer contract.

  • All students in housing spring term who are assigned to housing for the summer will have continuous housing contracts from the end of spring to the beginning of summer.

  • Graduate and undergraduate students enrolling only for the Summer Quarter may apply for on campus summer housing with a contact length that matches the length of the courses being taken.

Students Attending the High School Summer College Program:

  • Students enrolled in the Stanford Summer College program for high school students can apply for summer housing within the residence(s) reserved for the program, with a contract length that matches the length of the courses being taken.

Visiting Scholars, Visiting Researchers, Temporary Employees, etc:

  • Sublicense Opportunities in On-Campus Graduate Student Housing

Graduate students living in student housing with a full-year license can find a non-undergrad, non-high-school Stanford affiliate to sublicense for the summer term. Only Stanford affiliates of graduate student age are eligible and rates charged cannot be higher than the rates paid by the students. Gender, occupancy, and other limits apply. Graduate students without a contract may contract for a sublicense during the summer if the individual situation warrants it.

  • Housing for Non-Student Summer Visitors

Many individuals come to Stanford each summer to do research, work, or attend a conference which does not provide housing. Limited accommodations are available to these Stanford affiliates. Guests must be at least 18 years old, and the minimum stay is 14 nights. Rates are higher than the student rates, as they are not subsidized by the University. The Stanford Conferences web site has information on the housing for non-student summer visitors.

  • Faculty and Staff Housing

Faculty and executive-level staff are eligible to rent or purchase faculty housing located on campus. Visiting scholars who will be at Stanford for six months or longer are also eligible to rent these on-campus homes. There are condominiums, duplexes, and single family homes available, which may be advertised through any and all advertising resources.

  • Stanford Guest House

Stanford affiliates and visitors can stay at the Stanford Guest House, located off of Sand Hill Road near Highway 280. There is a free shuttle to the main campus. Amenities include free wired and wireless Internet, air conditioning, and cable television.

  • Off-Campus Rentals

Stanford has partnered with Places4Students to maintain a database of rentals advertised by local landlords who wish to rent to Stanford affiliates. Only current and incoming Stanford affiliates can access the Stanford listings. A Stanford email address is needed, but incoming affiliates who do not yet have a Stanford email address can contact the Community Housing office for access.
