Ph.D. Minor in Anthropology

Prospective applicants should see for further information about the application process and the department's requirements for the Ph.D. Minor in Anthropology. The requirements for a Ph.D. minor in Anthropology include the following:

  1. Complete 30 units of ANTHRO subject code courses at the 300 level with a minimum grade point average of 3.0 (B).Course work for a minor cannot also be used to meet requirements for a master's degree.
  2. Enlist a faculty member within the Department of Anthropology who will provide written consent to serve as the adviser for the minor and serve on the student's oral examination and dissertation.
  3. In conjunction with the program adviser, determine a coherent course of study related to the Ph.D. degree program.
  4. Pass with a minimum grade of 'B+' three ANTHRO theory courses, and one ANTHRO course in a geographical or theoretical area.
