In addition to the usual health and environment focus during the winter quarter, we are excited to announce the addition of an arts track starting Winter 2014!

The arts program will focus on visual art, arts administration, and performance/theater. Just like the health and environment track, the program will consist of a full-time internship five days a week (at an arts organization), classes in the evening, and cultural events on weekends. Health, environment, and art students will live and eat together in the SIW house, take classes together, and attend cultural events together. This mix of interests will allow for a fascinating cross-pollination of ideas and experiences.

Arts Internships available at institutions such as:

  • Hirshorn Museum & Sculpture Garden

  • National Museum of Women in the Arts

  • The Phillips Collection

  • The National Building Museum

  • The Kennedy Center

  • Arena Stage

  • The National Endowment for the Arts

  • Washington Project for the Arts

  • American art Magazine

  • The Folger Library
