The Ballet program endeavors to give young people the opportunity to appreciate and learn about the performing arts through dance. The program focuses on ballet, but also includes classes in other dance forms.
Through ballet technique, the program promotes discipline, musicality, and coordination, and has a positive impact on students' self esteem. As our students grow as dancers, they will also become more poised and focused, which will help them in their studies and as well as their future endeavors.
Two lessons will be given every Saturday, November through May, excepting those Saturdays during Stanford University dead and finals weeks and during university breaks. Approximately 30 students from James Flood School in East Palo Alto participate in the program.
