The Career Day at Stanford aims to help Chinese students gain insights into careers in industries around and provide them with live applications to evaluate their study and extra-curricular activities.
We have invited high-profile Chinese speakers from different sectors at the Bay Area to share their career experience and insights into their individual sectors as well as to advise interested students in their job applications.
Followed by the panel discussion, we will host a network session to allow more industry professionals to interact with students.

Dr. Hsing Kung is a well-respected community leader and a successful entrepreneur.. He is married to Margaret, with one daughter, Angela. His family has resided in south bay for forty years and always actively involved in community work. Hsing Kung received a BS degree from National Cheng Kung University, a MS degree from University of Texas at Austin and a Ph.D degree from UC Berkeley, all in Electrical Engineering. He also received a MBA degree from Santa Clara University. From 1974 to 1978, he was with Optoelectronics Division of Hewlett Packard. In 1983, Dr. Kung joined SDL Inc. as a co-founder and VP, manufacturing. SDL has become a world leading optical communication public company . In 2000, he co- founded Pine Photonics Communication and served as President/ CEO until acquired by Opnext. After Pine Photonics was acquired by Opnext Inc, he continued to serve as Sr. VP of Opnext until 2005. From 2006, he is managing partner of Acorn Campus Ventures. Currently, he serves as Chairman of Luxnet Corporation and Innolight Technology. In recent years, Dr. Kung has devoted to promote Chinese-American participation in main stream community. He was a former board member of Fremont Union High School District Board. In his tenure, he has made significant contribution to promote multi-culture climate in high schools. In addition, he also involved and served on the board of many other community organizations and foundations, including United Way Silicon Valley, Foothill DeAnza College Foundation. 2001, he was invited to participate in Class XIII of American Leadership Forum (ALF) and later served on the board from 2002 to 2009. In 2008, he was invited to join the founding board of 1stACT, a venture to enrich Arts and Culture in Silicon Valley. In December ,2010, he was appointed to Board Trustee of California State University (CSU Board) by Governor. He joined Cupertino Rotary in 1994 and has actively involved in Rotary activity. In 2012-2013, he served as their President. In April 2014, Dr Kung received “Citizen of Year” award from Cupertino Chamber of Commerce. In October, 2011, he was honored by Asian Pacific Fund for “build bridge to create civic harmony”. In the past, he has received numerous awards including Distinguished Alumni Award from Northern American National Cheng Kung University Alumni Association, Paul Harris Fellow from Rotary foundation, Community Hero Award from World Journal.
Chairman and CEO, Royole Corporation
Bill Liu was born in 1983. He is the Founder, Chairman and CEO of Royole Corporation. He is responsible for Royole’s day-to-day operations, external matters including building business partnerships, and leading the company’s technology strategy and product development. Bill founded Royole in 2012 with several of his Stanford alumni friends with the mission to define the future of information display. Since then, the company has grown rapidly and secured series funding from premier venture capital firms and investors. Royole operates globally with offices in California, US, Hong Kong and Shenzhen, China, and has many international talents from top research institutes and high-tech companies.
Prior to founding Royole, Bill served as Advisory Engineer/Scientist at IBM Corporation in New York from 2009 to 2012. He holds a Ph.D. (2009) degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, California and B.S. (2004) and M.S. (2006) degrees in Electronic Engineering from Tsinghua University, Beijing. Bill has published dozens of research articles in academic journals and conferences. He has given over 30 presentations at international conferences, and has over 30 patents granted or pending globally. Bill was a recipient of the First Prize for “Science as Art” at the MRS Conference and two paper awards from IEEE international conferences. He was the national champion of “Challenge Cup” Science and Technology Innovation Contest in 2003, and received the National Youth Science and Technology Innovation Award in 2005. He won two First prizes in the 1999-2000 National Olympiad in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, and a First prize in the National Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling.
In recognition of his achievements in founding and leading Royole to grow rapidly in the industry, he received the “Best Entrepreneur of the Year” Award at the Donews Annual Internet Award Ceremony in December 2013. He was also interviewed and reported by the Entrepreneur magazine and state media CCTV for his achievements in entrepreneurship recently.

Xin Han is an inventive and results-driven executive with more than 10 years experience in Internet industry. Mr. Han has founded VIPShop US R&D center and served as General Manager since 2013. Mr. Han previously served as Senior Product Manager of Amazon, CloudSearch service. Prior to Amazon, Mr. Han was Senior Product Manager of eBay. Mr. Han holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from TsingHua University and an M.B.A. from UC Berkeley, HAAS Business School.

Felix (Fuyong)Zhao is currently VP &GM of Asia Pacific of Sensys Networks.Felix is also the founding partner of zPark Venture.
Before Sensys, Felix was the Vice President, Mesh Technology of Aruba Networks, after
the acquisition of Azalea by US public company Aruba in September of 2010.
Before theacquisition, Felix cofounded Azalea Networks in Silicon Valley of the US in April2005 and was the Co-CEO, CTO and the board director of Azalea Networks, Inc. Before foundingAzalea, Felix worked for Cisco Systems and Cable & Wireless IDC. Felix received two bachelor degrees from TsinghuaUniversity, one for Physics and one for Electronic Engineering. Felix has ten US patents granted and five morepatents pending on IP routing, QoS, wireless communication and ad hoc meshnetworking etc.
CEO and Co-Founder, Alohar Mobile
Sam Liang (梁松) is the CEO and Co-Founder of Alohar Mobile Inc, the leading mobile Ambient Intelligence company, based in Palo Alto, California. Previously, Sam was the platform architect and lead of Google Location Server team for near four years, which powers thousands of mobile applications on Android and iOS. Sam also architected Google’s location API and Google Latitude. Sam held a number of patents in wireless and mobile technologies. Sam has a Ph.D in EE from Stanford University, specialized in Internet systems. He also has a BS in CS from Peking University. Sam has been featured on Wall Street Journal, Forbes, TechCrunch, GigaOm, etc, for Alohar’s pioneer work on creating the infrastructure enabling a new category of context-aware mobile apps.
Head of Asia Pacific Research, CISCO
Mei Wang is the Head of Asia Pacific Research at Cisco. Mei has been with Cisco for over 9 years, her research and advanced development have been deployed in multiple Cisco products, including the world’s largest router CRS-1, Cisco’s best selling switch Catalyst 6000, and VoIP gateway. Mei contributes regularly to standard bodies and international conferences, with research interests in network architecture and algorithms. Her decade of industry experience spans from the areas of IPv6, network scalability, routing and addressing, embedded system design, to multimedia.
Mei received her Ph.D. from Stanford University in Electrical Engineering and B.S. from Peking University in Physics. She is co-author of the biography book “Women Executives in Silicon Valley” published in 2005 and the President of NACSA, a high-tech professional organization with over 4000 members.
