Department of Academic Advising

Department of Academic Advising (Hongyu Xiong 熊泓宇)

Objectives:  Department of Academic Advising aims at assisting PhD and Master students (with questions regarding future careers) to plan their studies, so that they can efficiently spend efforts on the paths that are leading to their dream careers. By organizing events like “PhD to industry” panel and “Master advancing to PhD” panel, we establish a network to incorporate both lower and upper-level PhD students as well as students already graduated, and to form a much tighter connection between Stanford Chinese students and Chinese professional societies and groups in the Bay Area. We also organize activities like Chinese Faculty Luncheon, offering opportunities for face-to-face-communication with faculties  for students who are willing to go to academia.
