Archaeologists have had a perchant to call civilizations whose buildings and ornaments have not stood the test of time -- to look "rich" to us, todeay -- "Decadent" -- few people are going to pay good money or even take their valuable time to view buildings that have fallen apart or "fake" ornaments. Thus, those of us today are being told to copy the spendthrift "Classic" civilizations and not the resource conserving "Decadent" civilizations. Oops!
