The WTC debris -- this most tangible reality of a day that changed the world -- is very, very special. It is similar to the Battleship USS Arizona that lies in Pearl Harbor untouched since December 7, 1941. Such memorable remains should not be just buried at the landfill and forgotten.

They have the transcending stature of more than 30 million cubic feet -- the same size as the Temple of the Sun built about the time of Christ outside of what is today Mexico City.
