Parkinson's LAW has important repurcussions on refuse disposal in the 21st Century. During the last decade and a half, many companies have switched to mechanized pickup. That means that fewer workers are involved and that those who are will not suffer back injuries from lifting heavy cans -- the most common on-the-job injury in refuse pickup.
