What are Beginner Practices?
Beginner Practices are free weekly practices offered exclusively to the Stanford community. These practices are tailored for those new to archery, so there's no experience necessary and all equipment is provided!
Stanford students (both undergraduate and graduate), faculty, and staff, are eligible to sign up. Please note that we can only accomodate a limited number of archers per Beginner Practice and that spots fill quickly. Priority is given to undergraduate students interested in joining the team. Attending a Beginner Practice is the first step in the Recruiting Process, which you can learn more about here.
When & Where
Beginner Practices are held throughout the school year on Friday afternoons at 3pm - 5pm on our range near the IM athletic fields.
Schedule for Fall 2015
Sign ups open at the beginning of the week (Monday) for the Friday practice. If we are able to accomodate you the week you sign up, you will receive a confirmation email with more details. If there are no more spots available that week, please sign up the following Monday and we'll make extra effort to find space for you. We receive many sign-ups toward the beginning of the quarter, so do not get discouraged if you don't get into the first few!

If you are a Stanford student and would like to receive a notification when beginner practice sign ups open, please subscribe to our beginner practice mailing list.
Sign ups are full for this week, but please sign up again next week if you are still interested! We make special effort to find room for those who have tried to attend a Beginner Practice in the past.-->
What should I wear? Any comfortable clothing that you can move in. Baggy clothes and high heels are discouraged for safety reasons. If the weather is wet, shoes or rain boots are recommended. A tight-fitting sweater or jacket to keep you warm might be a good idea.
How do I know when signups open? Join our mailing list. We will only send out emails notifying you that sign-ups are open or that practice has been cancelled. No spam - we promise!
