Light: What Difference Does Light Make?

Look at where the light is. Try moving the light with the mouse. Notice how the area that is brighter draws your attention. Artists often use different light effects to draw your eye to what is the most important part of the image.

Now look at the original mural. Where do you see the most light? The muralist chose to put the light on all the people. Does she use light to make any of the people stand out more than the others? No, they all appear equal. What do you think she is trying to suggest through paying equal attention to light on each of the people?
