Health Improvement Program (HIP) Classes

HIP now offers over 200 Healthy Living and Fitness classes each quarter for university and hospital faculty, staff, retirees and their family members. Because of HIP’s location within the School of Medicine, our health education classes and individualized behavior change programs have a strong foundation in science with an emphasis on sustainable, gradual change. In addition, our experienced staff incorporates new trends into our fitness class offerings, while never sacrificing our commitment to quality instruction.

Healthy Living classes cover a multitude of topics, such as Mindful Moms, Deepening Meditation, Trust Your Gut, Preventing Burnout and so much more.

Fitness classes offer group instruction in areas such as cardio, strength, indoor cycling, martial arts, yoga, cross training, aquatic fitness, dance fitness, pilates, and so much more. NEW!  The HIP Fitness schedule now designates classes deemed “Chronic Condition Friendly” and “Older Adult Friendly.”

Stanford Recreation & Wellness (Rec) Classes

Rec offers Recreation classes, a Group Fitness Pass Program, Personal Training, Fitness Assessments and other offerings.

Recreation Classes  are non-credit classes (including Ashtanga yoga, golf, tennis, Olympic weightlifting and pre/post-natal fitness) for Stanford students, faculty/staff and Stanford community members (dependents 18 and older, spouses, Hospital employees who have purchased an Athletic Access Card, alumni who have purchased an Alumni Membership, retirees, or partners of a student, faculty or staff member.) Please note that there is no BeWell rate for golf classes.

The Group Fitness Pass Program offers two options: the Cardinal Group Fitness Pass gives access to all non-reservation-based classes. The Platinum Group Fitness Pass gives access to all classes available on the Cardinal Group Fitness Pass PLUS reservation-based classes for an add-on fee. Classes offered include yoga, cardio kickboxing, cardio dance, barre sculpt, TRX, F45, indoor cycling and more. There is a BeWell rate and both passes are Berry-eligible.
