Rayleigh wave ground motion by SDSCD scheme on basin model

In earthquakes, surface wave is one of important factors of the seismic disaster formation. Numerical simulation of surface wave and ground motion can help us to understand the features of surface wave. Moreover, viscoelastic model is more realistic than elastic model for simulating surface wave.
In the paper, we simulate two-dimensional viscoelastic wave field on basin model using previous developed symplectic discrete singular convolution differentiator (SDSCD) algorithm. The algorithm has been verified to be structure preserving scheme with strong stability. Using the relationship between the viscoelastic medium and ideal elastic medium, the first-order velocity-stress viscoelastic wave equations are derived. Then the discrete symplectic scheme, PML absorbing condition and free surface condition are introduced.
The attenuation feature of Rayleigh wave under different quality factor is analyzed. The forward results show that there is energy attenuation and spectrum absorption in Rayleigh wave propagation.
