A method and aparatus for remolded sample preparation of gas-bearing sediments in the shallow seabed

Methane is often found in lake, estuary, and seabed sediments with dissolved or free gas. The gas-bearing sediment is a dynamic balance product of gas, water, and soil praticles under actions of temperature, pressure, and overlying layer. And it is also a kind of important hazardous geology in ocean engineering. The method and apparatus for sample preparation is a basic issue for studing on the gas-bearing sediments in the lab, which requires homogeneity of the sample according to their in-situ occurrence forms as soon as possible. Using gas adsorption characteristic of zeolite, a method and apparatus is propused to measureably prepare remolded gas-bearing samples of different initial gas content under the conditon with changeable ambient pressure. Homogeneity is testified through observing and by Computed Tomography (CT) tests. Thereby, the problem for inestimable content of free gas and distribution heterogeneity in pores of the sample is solved, which provides a technological basis for physico-mechanical experiments of gas-bearing sediments.
