Online actuator tracking assessment for real-time hybrid simulation using frequency-domain evaluation index
Actuator tracking error evaluation is a key problem in real-time hybrid simulation (RTHS) to ensure accurate and reliable experimental results. In this study, an approach for online evaluation is proposed based on the recently developed Frequency-domain evaluation index (FEI) to provide actuator tracking assessment. Moving windows with and without overlapped are both investigated through computational simulations. To get accurate analysis results, the length of data window is shown to depend on the natural frequency and structural nonlinearity as well as the ground motion input. Existing RTHS data from Network Earthquake Engineering Simulation (NEES) are further analyzed to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed online approach. It is demonstrated that with proper data length the moving window enables accurate online actuator tracking for real-time hybrid simulation.Author(s):
