At Stanford University
Cardinal Ballet Company (CBC) is an enthusiastic group of classically-trained dancers who love to perform. Founded in 1993 by Julia Ball-Dugan and Jennifer Mott and formerly known as Stanford Ballet, the group is Stanford University’s first ballet company. CBC is committed to enhancing the Stanford community by encouraging students to participate in or attend dance performances.
Our members come from a variety of backgrounds, some having trained in small schools, and others having performed in professional companies. CBC puts on two shows a year: Nutcracker in the fall and Cardinal Dance Fusion in the spring. We have also performed in a variety of other venues, including Stanford Dance Marathon and Viennese Ball. Members are encouraged to take the Advanced Ballet class through Stanford's Dance Department, as well as participate in and organize pointe, pas de deux, and variation workshops throughout the year.
Congratulations, prospective freshmen and new graduate students! We're happy to answer any questions you have about continuing ballet at Stanford. If you'll be visiting for admit weekend, look for our booth at the Admit Weekend Activities Fair in White Plaza from 12:00-2:00 on Friday, April 28. Also don't miss our performance at the Admit Weekend Dance Expo on Friday, April 28! Interested dancers can also come to Advanced Ballet with Alex Ketley, offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:30-6:00 in Roble 115. Cardinal Ballet members will be in the class and will be happy to talk to you!
