At Stanford University
Cardinal Ballet Company (CBC) is an enthusiastic group of classically-trained dancers who love to perform. Founded in 1993 by Julia Ball-Dugan and Jennifer Mott and formerly known as Stanford Ballet, the group is Stanford University’s first ballet company. CBC is committed to enhancing the Stanford community by encouraging students to participate in or attend dance performances.
Our members come from a variety of backgrounds, some having trained in small schools, and others having performed in professional companies. CBC puts on two shows a year: Nutcracker in the fall and Cardinal Dance Fusion in the spring. We have also performed in a variety of other venues, including Stanford Dance Marathon and Viennese Ball. Members are encouraged to take the Advanced Ballet class through Stanford's Dance Department, as well as participate in and organize pointe, pas de deux, and variation workshops throughout the year.
We're busy preparing for our annual production of Cardinal Dance Fusion, including a mix of classical variations, original student choreography, and guest choreography. Check back later for more details! We'll also be performing in the opening ceremony of Viennese Ball on February 24, more details here.
