In November of 1994, a few students got together and formed a Canadian student association at Stanford. During the meeting, a constitution was written and signed by all present and two officers were elected. Peter Giles was voted Prime Minister and Adrian Butscher was voted Finance Minister.
Our official name is: The Canadian Club: A Distinct Society of Canadian Students at Stanford. The goal in forming this group was to provide Canadians with an opportunity to meet each other on campus through various academic and cultural activities. With over 250 students currently enrolled, Canadians are the fourth largest foreign student body at Stanford (statistics from 2012).
