Handwritten letter, January 25, 1869, requesting more men at work “on our line at the point where the U.P. line strikes it east of Ogden,” along with a photoprint copy of a stereocard showing Butler Ives on horseback in the mountains.

Biographical/Historical Sketch:
At the time of the letter, Butler Ives was an assistant engineer with the Central Pacific Railroad.
