Unknown Behaviors


Overview and Meaning


"Unknown" behaviors are included in ethograms to ensure that the ethogram is exhaustive (i.e. that at any time, a behavior can be identified). Behaviors may be "Unknown" because the animal is out of sight, or because the behavior cannot be identified (e.g. due to camera angle or resolution).

Unknown behaviors is a top-level classification, of individual behaviors, which include:

  1. Unknown
  2. Unknown in nest
