Enter/Adjust Score

Online assignments with multiple choice and multiple choice with rationale questions are graded automatically by CourseWork. Other question types require manual grading and data entry although you can make adjustments to scores that have been automatically computed.

Adjust Score for an Assignment

On the Admin Assignments page, click the Score link next to assignment. This will bring you to the Admin Assignment Scores page. Click the Review link for the entire class or for a particular section. On the Entire Class or <Section Name, Time> page, click the Adjust Score link located to the right of the person whose assignment score you wish to adjust. This will launch the Adjust Assignment Score wizard.

Step 1

Enter a new assignment score for the student in the Adjusted Score box. Click Cancel to exit the wizard without making any changes. Click Save to save the new score.

Step 2

Click OK to close out of the wizard.

Enter/Adjust Score for a Question

On the Admin Assignments page, click the Score link next to assignment. This will bring you to the Admin Assignment Scores page. Click the Review link to the right of By Question. This will bring you to the By Question page. Click the Review Answers link located to the right of the question whose score you want to adjust. This will take you to the Review Answers page. Click on the Review link for the entire class or for a particular section. This will take you to the review answers for the entire class or section page.

Scroll down to located the student for whom you wish to enter or adjust the score. Note: You can also use the row of alphabetical letters at the top of the screen to locate a student's name from the list. Simply click on the letter that stands for the first letter of the student's last name to bring that student's name into view.

The column to the farthest right is the Adjust column. Enter a score into the text box to grade the student's response to the question. Click the Adjust Student Scores button at the bottom right of the screen to submit the new score to CourseWork. You may need to scroll down if the link is not in view. Note: You will need to enter a score for short answer, audio, and file upload responses. Audio and file upload responses will show up as links under the Answer column and can be downloaded individually for grading. You can elect to adjust scores for multiple choice with rationale questions. Although these questions are automatically graded, you may wish to adjust the computed score based on the accompanying rationale.
