Members of the Stanford community may view recent college catalogs by visiting the CollegeSource Online web site. This site contains nearly 70,000 college catalogs and related materials online.
Catalogs, or bulletins, from most U.S. four year colleges and graduate programs, plus major institutions from throughout the world (1977/78 - 1999/2000) are available in the College Catalog Collection on microfiche housed in Cubberley Library (call number: Education MFICHE 578.) A microfiche reader/printer is available.
Stanford University Publications
Stanford University Publications, 1891-2001, including the Announcement of Courses (through 1952/53), Course and Degrees (1952/53-1994/95), and Stanford Bulletin (1994/95 through 2000/01; 2001/02 through present).
The Stanford Libraries maintain an extensive paper collection of historical (pre-1976, including the 19th century) college and university catalogs housed in Cubberley Library's storage. These also include catalogs or bulletins for teachers colleges and/or normal schools and junior colleges. We are in the process of creating Web-based finding aids for these, but until these are up consult the staff in Cubberley Library (firstname.lastname@example.org, or 650.723.2121) for information on holdings and assistance using this collection.
A collection of pre-1976 paper editions of foreign college catalogs is available in Cubberley Library, but not represented in Socrates, the online catalog. For access to this collection, consult with staff in Cubberley Library.
