Short Bio

Elizabeth is a doctoral candidate in the Department of French at the University of Virginia, where she received her MA in 2008. She received her BA in French from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2005. She is interested in medieval travel literature, a topic she was able to explore as a visiting instructor for Semester at Sea in 2009. Her research also engages with manuscript studies, an area she will pursue this summer as a Rare Book School Fellow. She is currently working on her dissertation, “Traveling Texts: Matter and Metaphor in Late Medieval Travel Narrative.”
