Expenditure Types and Object Codes are used to properly code purchases, expense reports, journal entries and receipts in Oracle Financials. This page provides a monthly summary of new expenditure types and object codes, and changes to existing expenditure types and object codes.

55250 GENOMIC ARRAYS NIH ONLY NO IDC Used for purchases of genomic arrays in excess of $75,000 per budget year on NIH grants and contracts. Purchases in excess of $75,000 per budget year are not subject to IDC and must be coded to ET 55250. Note: The first $75,000 of genomic array purchases per budget year are subject to IDC and are coded to ET 55245. Use ET 55210 for all other awards/funds. Ref NIH NOT-OD-10-097. Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes
55245 GENOMIC ARRAYS NIH ONLY IDC Used for purchases of genomic arrays on NIH grants and contracts. The first $75,000 of genomic array purchases per budget year are subject to IDC and are coded to ET 55245. Purchases in excess of $75,000 per budget year are not subject to IDC and are coded to ET 55250. Use ET 55210 LABORATORY SUPPLIES for all other awards/funds. Ref NIH NOT-OD-10-097. OTHER BUSINESS TAXES
Record other taxes assessed by Federal, State and local authorities including International business taxes. Use 56730 to charge International Income Tax and 56710 for Property Taxes. NOTE: Do not use for sales, use or excise taxes. Sales and use tax should be included in the cost of the goods purchased. Ref: A-21
