Overview: Funding for Tuition and Other Fees
Funding for tuition and other fees comes from a variety of sources.

Eligible students can receive financial aid from various sources. Types of aid include scholarships, grants, loans, and student employment. Stanford University Financial Aid Offices process applications and funding for students who qualify. Financial aid funds are applied to the University bill when appropriate. Graduate Financial Support
See Graduate Financial Support Policy Manual for details on various types of graduate student funding. Departments use the Graduate Financial Support System (GFS) to apply funds toward graduate student tuition and other fees.
Payment Methods When Paying with Personal Funds
- eCheck via Stanford ePay: eCheck (ACH) from all U.S. bank accounts is accepted through Stanford ePay. No service charges apply to payments made by eCheck.
- Checks via mail: Check payments may be sent to the University Cashier's Office, 459 Lagunita Drive, Tresidder Memorial Union Suite 7, Stanford CA 94305. Checks must be drawn on U.S. funds payable through U.S. banks and must not be post-dated.
- Walk-in: Customers may visit the University Cashier's Office at 459 Lagunita Drive, Tresidder Memorial Union Suite 7, 2nd floor between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM on weekdays. The Cashier's Office accepts personal checks, traveler's checks, cashiers checks, and money orders (U.S. funds payable through U.S. banks). Stanford does not accept post-dated checks. Credit/debit cards are not accepted.
- Wire Transfer: The University accepts payment to student accounts via direct wire service. For wire transfer instructions, contact University Cashier's Office.
