GIS Special Interest Group Meeting – Thursday March 1

We have scheduled the first GIS Special Interest Group meeting for next Thursday at the Humanities Center. This meeting is to plan and discuss the formation of the group to focus on GIS technologies and their uses for teaching and research in the humanities and social sciences.

Agenda:
1. Introductions
2. Discuss the possibility of monthly meetings and gather recommendations for future presentations and visitors
3. Claudia Engel will show us the GISSIG blog (gissig.stanford.edu ) which would function as the information hub for the group
4. Christian Henriot, Stanford Humanities Center Digital Humanities Fellow, will present his current work on the Virtual Shanghai project
