Doug Wilson awarded Fulbright Scholarship

I am delighted to spread the word that Doug Wilson, who has been a big part of How they Got Game, has just been awarded a Fulbright Program scholarship. He will spend the next year abroad in Copenhagen at the IT University, working with the game studies group there around Espen Aarseth, T. L. Taylor, and Jesper Juul. This is a very competitive program, and Doug is a well-deserving recipient of the scholarship.

This is a fantastic opportunity for Doug to push his research and writing forward in a variety of areas, not to mention the chance to see how people on the other side of the Big Pond live. We'll miss the e-mail sent at 4.30am, the reading of which has been a nice way to start the day, and I wonder how Doug will make it to our weekly lunch from such a great distance, but other than that, it's all good.

Congratulations, Doug
