Club Sports Fundraiser
By Katrina, 13 Feb 2012

If you are free this Friday (2/17) at 4pm please come to Burnham Pavilion in the Ford Center (across from Arrillaga, see link) to help the judo team raise $500 by dismantling gymnastics equipment. This money will pay for achievement trophies and van travel expenses. It should only take a couple hours if enough of us show up and we will go out to eat afterwards. Even if you can only make it at 5pm or 6pm drop by to help out!

Thanks,
Katrina

Stanford Judo attends the 2012 San Jose Buddhist Sensei Memorial Tournament
By Brandon, 31 Jan 2012

On January 29th, the Stanford Judo team competed in the 2012 San Jose Buddhist (SJB) Sensei Memorial Tournament in San Jose, CA. The SJB tournament is a 'D-level' tournament for senior-level competition, and it is the largest judo tournament on the west coast. Although competition was tough, Stanford players competed admirably, earning enough team points to place 7th out of a total 120 clubs represented. While higher-placing teams brought upwards of 80 competitors, Stanford earned their points with just 10 senior and 10 junior competitors. Individual results from the adult competitors are given below:

1st Place - Shasten Hill
1st Place - Katrina Pura
1st Place - Rafal Felbur
1st Place - Jeff Dupuis
2nd Place - Brian Null
3rd Place - Brandon Morgan
3rd Place - Kenny White

Congratulations to all the Stanford judoka who competed!

The new site was designed by Brandon Morgan: brown belt, Stanford Judo webmaster, and graduate student in the department of Aeronautics & Astronautics. Contact Brandon or the club officers with feedback on the new site or questions about the club.

Please check back to this page periodically for the latest announcements and results from tournaments.
