Chiamaka Agali

Position: Co-President
Year & Major: Class of 2019; Medical Anthropology
Bio: I was born in in Lagos Nigeria, but my family is from Ogidi, Anambra State.  We immigrated to Kansas City, Missouri and that is where I grew up. I enjoy poetry, reading, and learning about people and cultures. I’m a proud Nigerian and an even prouder Igbo girl.  Nigeria kwenu!


Peace Edem

Position: Co-President
Year & Major: Class of 2019, Human Biology
Bio: I’m from Southern California, but my family is from Akwa Ibom, Nigeria. I love to sing, dance (especially kukere), go to concerts, watch How to Get Away with Murder, and sleep. I am very excited to help expand NAIJA’s presence on campus this year with fun dances, shows, and stimulating conversations about topics pertinent to the current state of Nigeria.


 

Uwakmfon (Mfon) Ibekwe

Position: Secretary
Year & Major: Class of 2019, Civil & Environmental Engineering
Bio: I’m from Riverside, which is located in southern California. My hobbies include reading, running, and hanging out with family. I’m excited to be a part of what NAIJA will be doing on Stanford’s campus and I’m ready to make NAIJA stronger than ever.

 

 


 

Monica Ngozi Anuforo

Position: Financial Officer
Year & Major: Class of 2019, Computer Science
Bio: I’m from Stillwater, Minnesota but my parents grew up in Owerri, Nigeria. I love playing the cello, eating candy, and listening to opera. I’m super excited to get more connected with my Nigerian culture!

Year & Major: Class of 2018, Human Biology
Bio:I’m from Boston, MA. Originally born in Lagos, Nigeria. I love to dance, joke around and have fun. I’m really into photography and film editing. I love 90s R&B music.


 

Princess Umodu

Position: Fundraiser Manager
Year & Major: Class of 2017, Political Science Major, Modern Languages Minor
Bio: I was born and raised in So Cal, specifically West Covina, CA, but my parents immigrated from Nigeria. I love to read fantasy novels, watch animal videos, and eat good food (all desserts included). I am so glad to be a part of NAIJA because it allows me to be around people my age with similar cultural backgrounds which is something I’ve never had before.


 

 

Ayomide Charles Akin-David

Position: Web Manager
Year & Major: Class of 2017, Computer Science Major
Bio: I was born in Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria but raised mostly in Atlanta, GA. I enjoy playing soccer, going off campus and coding really interesting things. I’m excited to be a part of NAIJA and can’t wait for all the exciting events we have planned. My favorite Naija dish: iyan ati egosi.
